Bears vs. Cardinals A Battle of Who Wants It More

The 4-3 Arizona Cardinals roll into Chicago Sunday to face the 4-3 Chicago Bears.  Both teams have looked good at times this season almost teasing you with some success, and then there have been other games where you're saying "typical Bears "  or "same old Cards". 

The path of these two teams the last 20 years has been remarkably similar.  They both are victims of poor ownership, both have never had great QB play up until recently.  Both teams had surprisingly successful runs to the Super Bowl only to lose in the biggest game in the world. 

The Bears do have a longer history of success overall, but the Bears haven't had consistent success since arguably the late 80s and early 90s.  Hovering around .500 and not living up to the expectations of a rabid fan base. 

Kurt WarnerThe Cardinals on the other had are the victims of consistently poor teams.  They have never done ANYTHING and much like the Bears players who leave Arizona always seem to do well elsewhere.  But that all changed for the Cardinals with the arrival of Kurt Warner and the receivers. 

The Cardinals and Bears match up pretty evenly on offense, at least on paper.  Sure the Cardinals have the tandem of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, but their offensive production is only two slots better than the Bears'.  The Cardinals are last in the NFL with the 32nd worst rushing attack in the NFL.  They're only slightly more productive in the passing game than the Bears are. 

On defense the Cardinals stop the run well, just like the Bears but when it comes to slowing down the pass they are just as bad as the Bears.  Neither team protects their QBs particularly well or have strong offensive lines.  The Bears play well at home the Cardinals play well on the road. 

So as the title of this mentions it will come down to who wants it more.  Can the Bears' defense slow down the Cardinals offense enough to keep up with them score for score?  Statistically speaking the answer would be yes as the Cardinals are only one notch ahead of the Bears in the total points scored department. 

Who will come out more focused?  Who will come out determined to establish the run?  Will the Bears finally get Matt Forte going with Josh Beekman back for his second game as a starter?  Can the Cardinals utilize their size up front to defeat the smaller Bears' defensive line? 

Neither team is particularly physical but have their streaks of physical play in them so which team will show up tomorrow?  Most Bears fans see the Cardinals' passing attack and are pretty worried about facing such a strong passing attack.  But the Cardinals can be defeated you can rattle Kurt Warner if you get enough pressure and hits on him. 

Football is a game of emotions and tomorrow it will be interesting to see whose emotions are running higher.  Which team wants to honestly consider themselves a contender for a NFC playoff spot?  Who wants to win what is likely the most important game of the season for both teams?
